Fashion Tantra + MEN

CORPUS AUTUMN/WINTER 2009 MEN’S COLLECTION

For their first presentation, Corpus designers and Ecco Domani Fashion Fund winners Jerrod Cornish and Keith Richardson demonstrated how far they’ve come from denim and T-shirts.

In men’s, their special blend of East Coast prep and West Coast street was best represented by outerwear such as a duffel coat with buckled leather straps in lieu of toggles, a velvet puffer vest and an all-black varsity jacket extended to knee length. A sophisticated blazer was cut from a workwear plaid. The collection had a high degree of texture, especially the knitwear. Everything still relates to jeans, staying close to Corpus’ roots.

As for women’s (see images), the Corpus girl is street smart and borrows from her boyfriend, so the designers offered her femmed-up options for fall, such as a plaid silk blouse and a full skirt in black techno fabric.
